Installation Guide for WordPress

This guide will walk you through the process of installing and configuring the accessibility widget on your WordPress website. Total installation time: approximately 2-5 minutes.

Prerequisites

  • Administrative access to your WordPress dashboard
  • A valid widget script from dashboard

Installation Steps

Method 1: Using Theme File Editor

  1. Access WordPress Admin Panel
    • Be default admin panel can be found at your-domain.com/wp-admin
  2. Navigate to Theme Editor
    • Go to Appearance → Theme Editor in the left sidebar
  3. Select Footer File
    • From the list of theme files on the right, select footer.php
  4. Add Widget Script
    • Locate the closing </body> tag and paste the script from dashboard
  5. Save Changes
    • Click the “Update File” button to save your changes

Method 2: Using a Header & Footer Plugin (Recommended for Non-Developers)

  1. Install Header & Footer Plugin
    • Go to Plugins → Add New and search for “Header and Footer Scripts”
  2. Access Plugin Settings
    • Go to Settings → Header and Footer Script
  3. Add Widget Script
    • Paste the widget script in the “Scripts in Footer” section
  4. Save Changes
    • Click “Save Changes” to apply the script

Verification

  1. Clear cache
    • Clear your WordPress cache and any CDN cache if applicable
  2. View Your Website
    • Visit your website and verify the widget appears on the page
